Study Skills Workshop
During term 2, Year 7 parents again have the opportunity to come into school and receive more information about the curriculum and best ways they can support their child with their learning. Unfortunately, this is still not possible due to the restrictions in place regarding Covid-19.
Below you will find a series of videos that share this information with you. We hope that you find it useful.

Virtual 'Meet the Tutor'
Every year in late September or early October, parents of our Year 7s have an opportunity to come into school to meet their child's tutor and attend a small number of workshops to ensure that parents have all of the information they need to support their child's learning.
Sadly, this has not been possible in 2020 due to the restrictions in place because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thankfully, we are able to provide this event to you virtually. Below, you will find a video from each tutor introducing themselves, as well as the information that would have been provided in the workshops.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school using the details on the 'Contact Us' page.

Induction
The following basic provision can be expected when your child joins the school. This is in addition to other pastoral support that St Bernadette's provide to every child.
- For new Year 7s, a booklet will be provided to all prospective parents via their primary school.
- The new Year 7s will be invited to a taster day during the summer term. Primary schools will be advised of the date.
- Children joining the school later in their school career will be allocated a 'buddy' from within their tutor group who will help them during their early days as they they learn to adjust to the school environment.
- Every child at St. Bernadette has a form tutor who will normally remain with that child throughout their stay with us. The form tutor will get to know each child's needs and will seek to guide and support them throughout this time.
