Return to school when…

My child has Covid-19 symptoms.

HIGH TEMPERATURE- This means they feel hot to the touch on their chest or back. Temperature above 37.7OC

 A NEW CONTINUOUS COUGH- this means coughing a lot for over an hour or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours.

A LOSS OF YOUR SENSE OF SMELL OR TASTE- this means you have noticed no smells or taste is present at all.

DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL

Contact the school and inform us via 0117 377 2050 or 0117 377 2350

Self-isolate the whole household for 14 days

 

The test comes back negative THE SAME DAY IS POSSIBLE.

My child test positive for Covid-19

DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL

  • Inform the school as soon as you can.
  • Earliest possible return date is 10 days from positive test or 14 days from first symptoms in the household.
  • Self-isolate the whole household for 14 days
  • Learning resources provided via Google classroom.

They can return to school when they feel better after 10 days of a positive test.

Some symptoms may last for weeks such as loss of smell or cough.

My Child tests negative for Covid-19

CONTACT THE SCHOOL

Discuss when your child can come back into school, same day/ next day

As soon as you have a negative test result.

My child is ill but not with Covid-19 symptoms

FOLLOW THE USUAL ST BERNADETTE PROCEDURES BUT ONLY KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY

The pupil returns to school as soon as possible.

Someone in my household has Covid-19 symptoms

DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL

Agree the earliest possible return date minimum 14 days

When the child has completed 14 days of isolation

NHS test and trace has identified that my child has been in close contact with someone with a confirmed case of Covid-19

We/my child have travelled from a country where self-isolation is mandatory upon return to the UK

Leave/ holidays cannot be authorised in term time.  Please consider the isolation restrictions before travel.

We have received medical advice that my child needs to resume shielding

Shield until you are informed that restrictions are lifted and shielding is paused again.

As soon as restrictions are lifted child comes back to school.

My Child’s year group bubble is closed due to a Covid-19 outbreak.

DO NOT COME TO SCHOOL

Your child will be provided with education via Google classroom.

The whole bubble will need to isolate for 14 days.  Other members of the household only need to isolate if someone in that household develops symptoms and they test positive.

SCHOOL WILL UPDATE PARENTS ON WHEN THE BUBBLE CAN REOPEN.
