As a Catholic school, the Religious Education curriculum follows the Religious Education Curriculum Directory (RECD) as set out by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.
The aim of the teaching in Religious Education is to encourage all of our pupils to think about different beliefs in God, challenging questions such as the meaning and purpose of life, and to consider issues of right and wrong.
How will I be assessed?
Pupils will be assessed using the school’s 1-6 criteria based grading system. Every term pupils will have a formal assessment based upon the topic that they have been studying.
They will also complete assessed questions in most lessons. This will be assessed by both teachers and peers.
All year groups will also complete a Year Exam using the same assessment format.
