During term 4, our Year 9 students will make their option choices for the subjects they will be studying for their GCSEs. This process is called Pathways.
This section of the website is produced to help students and parents choose from the options subjects available, as well as giving information about the core subjects, such as Mathematics, English and Religious Studies.
With regard to options, it is important that each student’s curriculum be well balanced as future plans can change and it is imperative to keep the range of choices for later life open. However, in Years 10 and 11 it is appropriate to begin to specialise in some subjects that match interest and ability, and possible future career and educational aspirations.
Over the next few weeks, students will need to think carefully about the options subjects they would like to choose to study in Years 10 and 11. The below video explains the pathways process and key features.
If further information about the options system or any of the subjects described here is required, students should speak to the subject contact listed in the booklet or their Form Tutor. If further assitance or support is required please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please click here to download a copy of the Pathways Booklet for 2022. This booklet contains information about each subject, as well as general information such as how many subjects need to be chosen.
Our Heads of Learning and Subject Leaders have prepared a number of videos which give more information about their courses, what you will study and what exams you will have to take.
