PE - Core
Curriculum Overview
The intent of the Physical Education curriculum is to provide a broad variety of inspiring activities that engage pupils to embed the knowledge, skills, leadership and understanding of how physical activity can benefit them in order to encourage lifelong participation.
We intend for our pupils to be advocates of physical education who engage in healthy activities demonstrating independence, confidence, ambition, respect and determination to contribute positively to the school community and beyond.
Pupils will have an understanding of how physical activity can improve their mental and social wellbeing alongside the acknowledged physical benefits.
How will I be assessed?
As pupils progress through Key Stage 4, they will be assessed on their abilities to utilise the more advanced skills, roles and principles (tactics and formations) required to be successful at each sporting activity.
This process will occur during the delivery of each sport/activity, as well as allowing them to assess their own progress, and set targets/goals for their individual levels of achievement.
