Rose Forde Lecture Series - Caroline Norris

At St Bernadette’s Catholic Secondary School we are very keen to provide our students with opportunities for extra-curricular experiences that will improve their Cultural Capital and broaden their horizons.

With this in mind, we have been running an after school lecture series that we hope will provide our KS4 students with the opportunity to hear speakers from a wide range of backgrounds and walks of life and to learn about a range of topics and experiences.

We have chosen to run our lectures in the more intimate surroundings of our school library, which is at the heart of the school and an important hub for raising scholarship and aspirations. Our lecture series is in memory of Rose Forde, who was a dedicated school librarian at St Bernadette’s for 20 years and we hope it will be a fitting tribute.

The second keynote lecture of our 2022 series will be delivered by Caroline Norris, an Engineer for one of the world's most respected design, engineering and project management consultancies. She will be talking about the social side of engineering: climate resilience and poverty alleviation, including a recent project in Sierra Leone.. Tickets are available to book by clicking here.

The series will continue throughout 2022 with speakers from the fields of Documentary Film-making and History with dates and further speakers to be announced.
