KS3 Business
Curriculum Overview
The overarching aim of the Business curriculum is to enable all students to be successful learners, who are determined, enthusiastic, ambitious and have an enquiring approach to the world of Business.
The curriculum fosters a sense of curiosity and encourages students to seek further learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. The design builds on the St Bernadette Student as a scholar and striving for excellence.
Business is taught for the first time in Year 9, and is a subject that students can opt to take when they complete their first set of option choices at the end of Year 8.
How will I be assessed?
Business is assessed through St Bernadette levels that are designed to enable progress through the course with challenge at at all levels.
Each module will have an end of module test that will include knowledge questions along with application to business case study questions. These are taken from the GCSE question bank and provide as they provide an accurate way of assessing students knowledge.
Progress is formatively assessed throughout lessons through the use of plenaries, questioning and low stakes testing.
